I don’t remember the last time I went out for any sort of vacation. While the city started opening in phases, NDA (National Defense Academy) continued to stay in lockdown. And since I happen to live in NDA I couldn’t step out at all. I craved for travel, adventure, hotel stay and biggest of all room service. So when God showed mercy on us and gates finally opened I decided to make my way out. An invitation from Rhythm Lonavala could not have come on a better time. I was thrilled to be out and about. More than anything I was looking forward to a luxury staycation experience with no outdoor plans at all.
If you enjoy video content, here’s visual representation of my experience at Rhythm Lonavala.
The moment I stepped inside the premises of Rhythm Lonavala, what caught my attention was trees. Not just random trees planted to beautify the hotel but old trees, which are probably more than 80 years old. Another jaw dropping part was that these trees were standing tall at the most inappropriate places like in the middle of the swimming pool. Located in the heart of Lonavala, Rhythm is one of the best resorts in Lonavala. We all know the affinity of Mumbaikers and Punekars towards Lonavala. Nestled in the lap of Sahyadri Ranges, Lonavala is a one stop solution to escape from the boisterous city life and what better place than Rhythm Lonavala to rejuvenate and revive.
At Rhythm Lonavala, the structure adjusts to mother nature and not vice versa
Rhythm is a brainchild of Jatia family who ventured into the world of hospitality with this resort. When this stretch of land was bought it had a lot of trees, trees which were old, if not more at least a decade old. So while building the resort the priority was to restore most of these trees. And this is the reason why you would see a tree in the middle of the swimming pool. The thought was clear that the manmade will have to adjust with the nature and not the vice versa. Few trees which couldn’t be saved were eventually cut and pieces of their trunks are polished and up on every suite’s wall. No matter at which spot in the resort you are standing, you can always spot a tree and that’s the beauty of this an all-suite property.
Rhythm Lonavala offers 84 elegantly appointed suites in two categories, Banyan and Cypress suites. The architecture of the suites and common area is a perfect blend of modern and traditional. I couldn’t help but stare at the colorful tiles which adds an Indian touch to the modern outlook of the architecture. The suite screamed luxury and every nook and corner has been designed with bespoke attention to detail. While it offered everything that you can imagine, one highlight was unlimited supply of water in frosted glass bottles. Rhythm is not just about luxury but sustainability as well.
Rhythm Resorts is an art repertoire
After comfortably settling in the suite my itchy feet took me out in the property premises almost immediately. I might have said it hundred times already but Rhythm is green beyond words. I walked through a canopy which was covered with creepers with flowers, I don’t remember any other resort where I have done that. Every corner of the resort has some art pieces, some are made of wood, some metal and some were even imported from other countries. I spent most of my time just walking around the property and glancing at these art pieces.
Food at Rhythm Resorts
If there’s anything that I have done more than wandering around and appreciating the art pieces, it was eating. I am a frugal eater and there hasn’t been a single meal where I didn’t overeat. The food at Rhythm resorts is delicious and the options are uncountable. If its not on the buffet you can place an order from their menu and their chefs make sure that your palate is satiated.
They have named their dining area as “The Tree House Café” which is totally justified as you can spot a huge tree climbing up to the café floor. Our last dinner at Rhythm Lonavala is itched in my memory, Chef Vinod prepared sumptuous food which we enjoyed to bits. Not just this the resort also has high tea for their guest. The setup is created by the swimming pool. Once can enjoy tea/coffee with your choice of snacks and enjoy the beautiful view of the resort’s façade. By the high tea time the sun goes down and the lights are up which makes the façade look even more magnificent.
Rhythm Lonavala exceeded my expectations
When I said yes to this collaboration, my expectations was to indulge in luxury services, enjoy delicious food and live a panda life. My experience at Rhythm was much more than I expected. I did everything that I thought of and so much more. Although I didn’t plan to go out of the resort at all but one fine evening we went driving around. Being located right in the heart of Lonavala, it is close by all the public attractions. We saw Lonavala lake with a beautiful sunset, and post that we drove up to Tiger Point. By the time we reached there it was already dark, so didn’t spend much time and got back to Rhythm.
I cannot end this post without doing a special mention for the staff of Rhythm Lonavala. The staff of Rhythm is adept in their field of working. At the Tree House Café, I have seen the staff there checking with every guest on the food and if they need anything. You will always find someone checking either on you or on their services. The chefs, the receptionist, the room service guys every single one of them very courteous and affectionate. I was at Rhythm as part of collaboration but I observed that the staff behaved the same with every guest.
