Goa Beyond Beer and Baga !

Just the word Goa brings a huge smile on everyone’s face. It is synonymous to celebrations, holiday and fun times. There will always be a person in your group whose idea of celebration is going to Goa and getting drunk. I visited Goa in 2012 with a bunch of friends. It was my first visit and since then I have been planning for the second one. If you are wondering why a second one that is because you can never have enough of Goa. There is no cap on the number of times you would like to visit Goa. Usually for other destinations you might say, we have been there let’s plan for some other place but that’s just now how it goes for Goa. Everyone’s always game for Goa baby.

Military Tourism is an initiative by Maharashtra Ex-Servicemen Corporation Ltd (MESCO). It was launched on 10th May 2016. Military has a way of keeping away from civilian and they have a whole different world for themselves. Military Tourism aims at giving the civilians a peek into the military lives. I have a little knowledge of how things work in Military as my father served in The Indian Army and when I heard about this initiative I was happy that Military is allowing civilians to experience the ringside view of their lives. Military Tourism is being taken ahead under a program called “Veer Yatra”. Veer Yatra is the first-of-its-kind “tourism” initiative that aims at strengthening the emotional bond between the Military establishment and the civilian population.

Trek To Nagtibba Part – II

Trek To Nagtibba Part – II

It was an early morning and I woke up to chirping birds. I had a sound sleep. I was a little apprehensive of sleeping in the sleeping bag but I slept like a log. I opened my tent and stared at the view for few minutes. It was layers of mountains in various shades of green, dense trees, a red tent (our kitchen), smoke swirling up from the kitchen tent and the cool breeze. I had no plans of moving from there until I heard my guide calling my name. I then noticed rest of the team members were already up and were busy getting done with the morning schedule. I didn’t wanna be the reason for any delay in the program. So I said a quick goodbye to the smoky mountains and started getting ready for the second leg of trek to Nagtibba.

The creases on the bed sheet,
refuse to go away.
Just like all the memories,
she had of him.

We can always find a better best friend, a better lover and a better confidant but there we will never be a better mother because all of them are the best.

We all have the best versions, isn’t it ?

When I Did Paragliding In Bir !

Paragliding In Bir

How can you go to Bir and not do Paragliding? Isn’t it something obvious and so obviously it was on my to do list as well. Bir pronounced as “Beed”, is one the most popular sites for paragliding, not just in India but across the world too. To add a little trivia here, Bir also hosted the paragliding World Cup last year in the month of October. It was the first time when India has hosted a paragliding World Cup. So needless to say that doing paragliding in Bir is a must and I was very keen on doing it. But things always don’t go as per your plan.

Enjoy Authentic Himachali Stays With Himachal Heritage Village !

Authentic Himachali Stays With Himachal Heritage Village

Before I say anything else, have you noticed the title says “stays” and yes that is true. How is that true, you will get to know in sometime. Mt stay is Palampur was about a lot of things, mountains being the first and foremost. Mountains are like my first crush and I always seek ways to get close to them, to stare at them and to smile at them. It sounds a little crazy but I do all of them. One of the important traits of mountains is authenticity. No matter what it is you would always experience a hint genuineness and innocence. I would here take a moment and talk about my stay with Himachal Heritage Village. If I have to describe the experience in one word then it has to be “enriching“.

Trek To Nagtibba Part – I

Trek To Nagtibba

The shrieking sound of train woke me up and I realized that I have reached Dehradun. I mean I just boarded the train and I have reached already ? Nevertheless I got up and made my way out of the station. In no time I got a call from GIO adventure informing that one of their representatives were waiting to pick me up. I met Mr. Ravi (guide) and the driver Mr. Bunty who were going to be with me for the rest of the trek. We were waiting for another member and soon Vindhya (from Hyderabad) joined us and we made our way to pick two more members for the trek. We then picked up Mr. Om and Mr Ashish (both from Mumbai) from their hotel and the group was now complete. The next destination was Pantwari village, which was the starting point of the trek.

Pretty Palampur : Straight From The Heart !

Straight From The Heart – Pretty Palampur

While I write this I have a constant watch on the time as I have to get ready for work but I cannot help and reminisce my short and sweet weekend retreat to Palampur. I haven’t been to Palampur before and the only way I had known about its existence is through an old movie called “Raja Hindustani” where Amir Khan was a taxi drive in Palampur. Remember ? Talking about the nearby places I have some vague memories of Yol cantonment as well as my father was posted there and on and off I hear some stories about that place from my mother. I was very little then so I don’t remember any of it but I do trust my mother. The recent addition to Palampur association would be my very close friend who is from Palampur with the latest being this trip to Palampur. I guess the little universe conspired very well with all its forces so that I could witness the untouched beauty of pretty Palampur.
