My stay with The Terraces was an unforgettable experience. The warm hospitality is still fresh in my memories but what really got me hooked was the kind of experience I have had in those three days. I unveiled a beautiful destination Kanatal and I can go on and on as to why Kanatal should be your next getaway destination. Building a luxurious resort isn’t a big deal but curating an experience around the same is definitely an uphill task. Lunch at Saur Village in Kanatal was one such experience for me. It displays varieties of creative and detailed Durga Pujo pandals. However I didn’t get the opportunity to witness various nights of revelry in Kolkata but I did visit few pandals in Delhi and Noida. I am not here to talk about various rituals of Durga Pooja but to share an observation that I felt while visiting the pandals. Real togetherness results in happiness.

Happiness is a state of mind. It is what you have right now not what you plan for the next six months or the next week for the matter of fact. Happiness is a very subjective aspect of life, what might make someone very happy might not affect a person at all. I remember writing “To be happy and content in my life” as the objective in my resume, and yes it later on raised a lot of eyebrows. The objective in your resume should be professional and not personal. I didn’t find my objective personal, I thought it was eternal. The explanation of it not being an eligible objective didn’t make any sense to me but yes I did change it to the boring and conventional objectives that you read every day in resumes.

All About My Sojourn At “The Terraces”

I woke up to the screeching of the train brake and I knew it is not the destination yet. Kanatal was still 2-3 hours drive away. For someone who suffers from motion sickness in the mountains, the cool breeze and lush green scenic view were the motivation for the drive. We reached our destination The Terraces and the glimpse of good hospitality were evident from the very outset.

Welcome with ear to ear smiles  🙂 

A huge brick and mortar structure never impresses me until it is accompanied by smiling faces, and the very first step in the property and I was looking forward to my stay already. The resort staff was very cordial and they took the luggage as we arrived to the reception.

If we talk about weekend getaways from Delhi then there is no dearth of places. Surrounded by states like Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, a drive of 7-8 hours will definitely take you to some place nice. If we talk about Uttarakhand then places like Moussoire, Nanital and Dhanaulti takes away all the glory. But what took me to surprise was my weekend visit to Kanatal. The place is an absolute delight and a balanced amalgamation of natural beauty and pleasant weather. After getting back from the trip I could think of many reasons as to why Kanatal should be your next weekend getaway.
