A visit to India’s last village, Mana Village !

10

Mana village, popularly known as India’s last village is located at Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, few kilometers away from the Tibet/China border. During my recent trip to Uttarakhand for a trekking experience I got the opportunity to visit this unique village. While driving towards the village we were actually driving through the cantonment area. Being an army ward the military green color acted as a stimulus and awakened all my senses 😆

A trek into blossoming Valley of Flowers !

10

The Valley of Flowers boasts the coveted title of Unesco World Heritage Site. A valley carpeted with flowers and green meadows till the end of your sight is nothing less than a visual treat for your eyes. The best and balanced portrait of all the natural elements is what you should imagine when you think of this valley. Being located at an altitude of 3,500 meters to 4,000 meters this valley is home for numerous species of flora and fauna. While you could spot a lot of familiar flowers, you will also witness some never seen before varieties of alpine flowers.

A detailed insight into my itinerary of Valley Of Flower trek

September started with a bang. I was out on the very first day for a week long travel adventure. While I was out I was constantly in touch with the social media (as long as I could), apprising everyone about my whereabouts. I tweeted, posted pictures on Instagram and checked in Facebook every now and then. The journey was long with quite a number of halts. I was satiated in my own world that my folks out there know where I am wandering, but to my surprise that wasn’t the case.

When I got back home a lot of people came to me asking more details about the places that I had visited and then I realized that what seemed a series of destinations for me was a labyrinth of places for others. I then thought of writing this post to detail about my itinerary and the order in which I visited all the places.

High time you take comedy seriously !

0

Comedy is a difficult stunt to pull off. Getting someone emotional is very easy as compared to getting them laugh their heart out. We humans have grown into a way too evolved species and it takes a lot of effort to even bring a smile on our faces.

“You can tell how smart people are by what they laugh at,” Tina Fey.

Even though we know how difficult of a task is comedy but still there are few people who have excelled in this arena. While there are some veteran comedians there are many newbies as well who are trying to make their mark in the comedy business. The social media has helped various budding stand-up comedians in reaching out to a wider audience. YouTube has been a great source for these comedians to showcase their talents.

The concept of incorporating comedy and comics in everything has boomed like anything. There aren’t just numerous stand-up comedy videos on YouTube but the same can be spotted over popular websites as well. It is a good way to glue the visitors to your website. For instance recently the popular lifestyle website http://www.liveinstyle.com/ has come up with a “Stand-Up Comedy” feature in their website. Before saying anything further first have a look at their Stand-up comedy section here.

The Stand-Up Comedy section of showcases some ace stand up comedians like Kanan Gill, Gursimran Khambha, Ashish Shakya, Aditi Mittal, Vir Das, Vipul Goyel, Tanmay Bhatt, Rohan Joshi, Praveen Kumar and Abish Mathew. The aim of the website is to promote Stand-Up Comedy and invite more and more people to come forward and show their talents.

The idea is to encourage Stand-Up Comedy by motivating more and more people to come forward and take part in their comedy hunt, which is the biggest hunt for the best Stand-Up comedian in India. If you are a comedy enthusiast you can make the most out of this opportunity and if you know someone who would be benefited by this then spread the word. If you visit the Stand-up comedy section you would see a lot of videos of some ace comedians giving tips on making a good comic video.

Stand-up comedy isn’t an easy stunt, it requires courage and boldness to step up in front of an audience and compel them to laugh. If you have the wit and humor that this hunt is looking for then you should definitely step up. For more details on the same visit Stand-up comedy section on their website.

Till we meet next, keep smiling and laughing.

The curious case of women wanting to be treated as specially or equally !

0

I wrote a lot of adages to give this post a kick start but then I struck it all off. I still don’t know how and where to begin with this much debated topic involving the choice between equality and specialty. Often I am referred to as an ardent feminist who is always ready to rant about women equality and empowerment. Yes I am a feminist but in no world it gives me the right to demean the men fraternity. Men and women are different. There is no such criteria which can determine the superiority of one over the other. So if I am asked “do you want to be treated specially or equally?” I would just smile and reply  “I wish to be treated equally”.

Postcards from the Mountains !!

It has been two days since I am back from my tryst with the mountains and I still cannot get the scenic views out of my head. Being physically back to civilization has very less to do with your mental wandering. Every now and then I take a quick break from work and scroll through the pictures in my cell phone. No matter how much I tell the world as to how magical and mesmerizing the views were, but nothing can do the justice to the visual treat that my eyes had.

When a vegetarian is food fixed for the nth time !!

Being a vegetarian there have many situations where I have been a victim of food fix. Be it a birthday party, an official outing or a family dinner I have always been the cynosure because of my food preferences. Coming from Lucknow and not eating chicken or meat is something which astonishes almost everyone that I meet. I have even embraced comments like “your association with Lucknow is a waste because you have never tried their famous kebabs”, I am sure there are many who are nodding their heads in agreement. I am a vegetarian by choice not by any compulsion or force and if even one day I feel like treating my taste buds with meat I might do it. Like I said it is my choice not some stringent rule or petition that I signed up for.

A sneak peek into the art of shoe making with Alberto Torresi !!

Good shoes take you to good places. I completely believe in this adage. When I meet someone the first thing that I carefully observe is not their clothes, accessories but their shoes. For me a good pair of shoes is always a good start and leaves a positive impression. So when I got the chance to witness the art of shoe making from Alberto Torresi, I instantly nodded in agreement and said a yes.

Breakneck Internet Speed with Airtel 4G : What all will you do ?

In the era where Wi-Fi password exchange takes precedence over hello and namaste, you can very well imagine the significance of high speed data. Your data speed speaks a lot about your personality, if you are still on 2G you are frowned upon and if you don’t have a Wi-Fi at your place then only God can save you from the endless discussion over the Stone Age era you are coming from. None can deny the importance of high speed, it isn’t a luxury anymore. It is a necessity. We all long for it and we all want it.
